DIY Craft Cart for Your Cricut

Ever since I got an amazing deal on a Cricut Explore Air 2 on Prime Day I have been crafting up a storm. With all of that crafting comes tools, materials and scraps that need storage. To deal with this dilemma I built and created this cute little craft cart that fits my Cricut perfectly on top and has storage for materials underneath. Finding the Perfect Cart

First the craft cart itself I bought on Amazon. I was looking for a relatively inexpensive (about $50) cart that was on wheels, could fit my Cricut on top and matched my office decor. I thought it would be impossible, but this cart I found was perfect. Even one of the reviews on Amazon had the Cricut on it so I knew it would work. The only thing I wish it had was another shelf, making it taller and more room for storage. Overall, after I put it together and had my Cricut on top I was very happy with it.

The Crates for Storage

Next I bought the crates to put on the craft cart shelves. I found them at Joanne’s fabric for $10 a piece. They fit almost perfectly on the cart shelves (they are a little bit wider) and when stained with the dark walnut wood stain I found at Home Depot it matched really well with the cart.

Adding the Finishing Touches

Last I used my Cricut to cut words to decorate the crates and make my crafting area a little cuter. The first saying was “Craftiness is Happiness” and the second was “All I Need Is… My Cricut, Wine, and Amazon Prime”. I love that second saying and am thinking about putting it on a T-shirt! The white vinyl stood out really well against the dark wood stain and for a pop of color I added a pink sparkle vinyl to match my Cricut.

Extras

Here is the Cricut file for the words. You may need to scale the words in order to fit the slats. The Joanne’s slats are just under 2”.

So far I love it and I cannot wait to add more to it. I might add a hook on the side to hang the cutting mats and I already used Velcro to attach the power cord to the cart.

Supplies

Here is a list of all of the needed supplies:

  1. Cart from Amazon
  2. 2 Crates from Joanne’s fabric
  3. Dark Walnut Wood stain I got from Home Depot. I only needed the small can, because I did one coat.
  4. Foam brush. You can find them at any craft store, Amazon or at Home Depot. You can also use a regular paint brush, I just like to use the foam.
  5. Rag to wipe the stain.
  6. Vinyl (I used white and sparkle pink)
  7. Free Cricut file
  8. Transfer tape
