“Pup”kin Pie

Well it is Thanksgiving prep time!!! I made these cute pup-kin pies for my Zoeybear. Pumpkin is actually good for a dogs tummy as well as yogurt. My dog LOVES pumpkin so I think she will like this recipe.

For the crust:
¾ cup whole wheat flour
½ cup oatmeal
¼ cup apple sauce
3-4 TBS water

For the filling:
¾ cup pumpkin puree
1/2 c greek yogurt

Preheat oven to 375°F. Place the whole wheat flour and oatmeal into food processor, blend until oatmeal becomes fine. Add apple sauce and water, blend until the mix becomes dough-like. Roll out the dough to about ¼ in thickness and use a round cookie cutter to create the crust (I had to use extra flour to prevent sticking!). Take these round pieces of dough and shape them into the bottom of a regular sized (greased) muffin tins. I was able to get 11 crusts out of the dough (Zoey ate the leftover crust). Bake for 8 minutes. Put the crusts to the side and let cool. Spoon pumpkin pie puree into each of the pup-kin pie crusts. Top with plain greek yogurt for the whipped topping and serve to your BFF doggie!
